Justice Department Recommended Hunton & Williams Lawyers That Commit Fraud and Crimes

The Justice Department recommended Energizer’s law firm called Hunton & Williams, according to journalist Glenn Greenwald who heralded Edward Snowden’s National Security Agency (NSA) classified intelligence leaks.

And that makes perfect sense. If you want to control commerce, intelligence, and society through the Internet and social media, it stands to reason that Hunton & Williams would administer Eveready’s e-commerce and domain disputes. Through ICANN/NAF and Hunton & Williams, lawyers for these special interests are empowered to administer the same fraud and similar crimes that Dr. Horowitz has witnessed.

“The scheme doesn’t require anything but false claims to steal valuable domains,” Dr. Horowitz said. “They flex their legal muscles to defraud and distress domain owners into defaulting on their NAF arbitration responses.”

Victims effectively concede their domains to Hunton & Williams’ clients, compounding the law firm’s infamous reputation for white collar crime.

Glenn Greenwald warned consumers and legislators about Hunton & Williams’ corruption, and the fact that the company is notorious for smearing and damaging journalists, like Horowitz who whistle-blow on corporate clients complicit in government corruption.

Greenwald’s coverage of Snowden leaks exposed social media manipulations by Great Britain’s MI6 and GCHQ, both involved with the CIA in administering Internet fraud and commercial crimes. Through the GCHQ, intelligence agent are trained to publish propaganda to damage companies, organizations, and targeted individuals using social persuasion amounting to consumer fraud. Greenwald’s evidence included corporatist attacks against WikiLeaks.

Relevant to Horowitz’s case involving the NAF, Greenwald exposed the Bank of America’s hiring of Hunton & Williams’s to help control Internet intelligence and e-commerce. The NAF company, purportedly “approved” by ICANN (supposedly a nonprofit organization), was sued by masses of people for complicity in foreclosure fraud and mortgage refinancing scams. Whereas the NAF is infiltrated or influenced by Hunton & Williams lawyers, the NAF effectively operates as a new species of commercial crime featuring regulatory capture.

“As creepy and odious as this is, there’s nothing unusual about these kinds of [Internet controlling crime] campaigns. . . . The very idea of trying to threaten the careers of journalists and activists to punish and deter their advocacy [or commerce] is self-evidently pernicious; that it’s being so freely and casually proposed to groups as powerful as the Bank of America, the Chamber of Commerce, and the DOJ-recommended Hunton & Williams demonstrates how common this is.  These highly experienced firms included such proposals because they assumed those deep-pocket organizations would approve and it would make their hiring more likely,” wrote Greenwald.

“But the real issue highlighted by this episode is just how lawless and unrestrained is the unified axis of government and corporate power.  I’ve written many times about . . . the full-scale merger between public and private spheres – because it’s easily one of the most critical yet under-discussed political topics.  Especially (though by no means only) in the worlds of the Surveillance and National Security State, the powers of the state have become largely privatized.  There is very little separation between government power and corporate power.   Those who wield the latter intrinsically wield the former.  The revolving door between the highest levels of government and corporate offices rotates so fast and continuously that it has basically flown off its track and no longer provides even the minimal barrier it once did.  It’s not merely that corporate power is unrestrained; it’s worse than that:  corporations actively exploit the power of the state to further entrench and enhance their power.”

In a related article published by The Nation regarding cybercrime and the “New Media,” journalist Peter Ludlow wrote:

“In November 2010, Hunton & Williams organized a number of private intelligence, technology development and security contractors—HBGary, plus Palantir Technologies, Berico Technologies and, according to Brown, a secretive corporation with the ominous name Endgame Systems—to form “Team Themis”—‘themis’ being a Greek word meaning “divine law.” Its main objective was to discredit critics of the Chamber of Commerce, like Chamber Watch, using such tactics as creating a “false document, perhaps highlighting periodical financial information,” giving it to a progressive group opposing the Chamber, and then subsequently exposing the document as a fake to “prove that US Chamber Watch cannot be trusted with information and/or tell the truth.” In addition, the group proposed creating a “fake insider persona” to infiltrate Chamber Watch. They would “create two fake insider personas, using one as leverage to discredit the other while confirming the legitimacy of the second.” The leaked e-mails showed that similar disinformation campaigns were being planned against WikiLeaks and Glenn Greenwald.
